It works in daylight, you can go maximun 1/8 of a shutter speed with minimum ISO 100 or 50 which ever is lower available in your mobile to take slow shutter images, however skies will be overexposed so avoid sky shots, and at night you can go upto 16 seconds to capture long exposure images. If you are reading my review i will recommend it's not usefull for beginners, go for ND16 or higher if you really needed it. But when comes to the quality of the product it's really good
